Water is the common material for the mixing of castables and mortars used for installation. After installation, water needs to be driven out of the lining or else may cause severe cracks by trapping steam. Hence, the dry out of refractories should be undertaken carefully.
External burners are used for the dry - out of refractory linings. These external burners are fired with light weight oil/gas and are installed in openings such as manholes & doors.
